How to Prepare Differential Equations for Class 12 Mathematics NCERT, ISC ,CUET

Differential Equations is widely used in Mathematics and Computer Science. Once you get over the rigour of Understanding Integration, Differential equations will seem relatively easy. To understand Integrals, you can click here.

If you are a student of Mathematics in Class 12, this post will help prepare you adequately for your exams, be it ISC or CBSE. You will also find this useful if you have to appear for the CUET examination with Math as an option.

For those of you in College, you must be aware that the Mathematics that you learn is heavily dependent on the study of Differential Equations. This post will serve to brush up your skills.

So what is a Differential Equation? Note that in dy/dx, y is the dependent variable, x is the independent variable. So an equation which involves unknown functions and their derivatives with respect to one or more independent variables is called a differential equation.

The order of a differential equation is the order of the highest order derivative of the dependent variable with respect to the independent variable. If each term involving the derivative is a polynomial or can be expressed as a polynomial, then the exponent of the highest order derivative is called the degree of the differential equation.

In this context, try this problem. This is not a differential equation since the term involving the derivative cannot be expressed as a polynomial.
